Henderson, NV, United States, 05/10/2009 - Former San Jose St. college standout Steve Villanueva captured his second consecutive Global Bowling Alliance (GBA) Challenge Cup Sunday when he defeated former Team USA member Rod McLean 224-194 to win the Verve Energy Challenge Cup as seen on TV4U.

Former collegiate bowling star Steve Villanueva continued his climb to the top echelon of young bowlers when he defeated former Team USA stalwart Rod McLean 224-194 to capture the Verve Energy Challenge Cup at the Silver Nugget Casino in Las Vegas. It was his second straight Challenge Cup victory, having previously won the Bowling Illustrated Challenge Cup.
Villaneuva was the tourney's top qualifier. McLean had defeated Reggie Stenhouse, a top Military bowler and five time tour Iraq veteran 237 -173 and then bowling'urban legend' Bob Pyzbicki 221-187 before falling to Villanueva in the finals.
In the Jackpot Bowling Match, Panamanian superstar bowler Gregorio Daisley overcame an 0-3 start to defeat 17 year old bowling wunderkind Billy Platt 7-6.
In the Las Vegas Celebrity Bowling match, former Los Angeles Angels pitcher Rickey Clark edged former Cleveland Indians catcher Duke Sims 163-151.

In addition, there is an Arcade for the kids and a bar for the adults near by.
The Verve Energy Challenge Cup will also be seen in syndication on broadcast TV stations across the USA via the TVS Television Network on their TVS Circle of Sports series. Also, it can be seen on the American Life national cable TV network.
