Frost & Sullivan, the Growth Partnership Company, is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected by the San Antonio Technology Accelerator Initiative (SATAI) to join its committee of technologists, investors, entrepreneurs and professional organizations that provide a 360 degree review of business plans for technology-based companies seeking funding and guidance.

SATAI fosters economic development in South Texas by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Once per quarter, SATAI presents an opportunity for start-up companies to present their business plans, products, and models to a group of experts who decide if the company should proceed to the next level of funding and development or continue in consultation with SATAI or their network of experts to re-tool the plan and make it more attractive to investors in successive funding opportunities. SATAI is the South Texas portal of the $200 million Texas Emerging Technology Fund and manages the South Texas Angel Network to provide channels to additional funding.

"Our participation in this initiative makes sense for all," says Art Robbins, President, North America, Frost & Sullivan. "Frost & Sullivan is in the business of building and growing companies, and we welcome the chance to advise companies that are in the growth stage. This mission is shared by all who are involved with SATAI."

As a partner with SATAI, Frost & Sullivan will help assess the viability of companies' business plans and offer guidance for entrepreneurs. Frost & Sullivan's consultants will have the opportunity to review entrepreneurs' business plans, confirm that the company is ready to proceed to another funding level, and/or suggest the changes necessary to transform into growing businesses.

"We are pleased that a prestigious firm such as Frost & Sullivan has agreed to partner with us," explains Jim Poage, President and CEO of SATAI. "The benefits will be experienced immediately by our entrepreneurs, as they will receive expert industry advice from consultants focused on building and growing companies. Frost & Sullivan has an international perspective and deep experience analyzing numerous industries and hundreds of companies and business models. We are confident that providing startups a headstart will in turn increase the number of South Texas companies who obtain funding."

Frost & Sullivan's San Antonio, Tex.-based healthcare consulting team will first take part in the advisory committee, with a chance to review the business plans of healthcare and life science companies that seek assistance from SATAI. Healthcare and life science companies form the largest segment of companies working with SATAI. Going forward, Frost & Sullivan's technology consulting teams will also participate.

"We should all be committed to economic development," adds Robbins of Frost & Sullivan.
