This new unit is designed to equip small-engine vehicles; it is compact and efficient, as well as easy to install. The SKIMO unit comes as a roof-mountable single-bloc as well as a split system (two units).
The SKIMO electric air-conditioning unit offers numerous benefits. It enables users to make energy savings – since the compressor is powered by an electric motor, fuel consumption is lower and there is no peak power loss to the engine. It is also smaller than other units – just 72cm x 48cm x 25cm, which is useful for small-size cabins as the unit can be cantilevered and requires only a limited 40cm x 30cm roof area.
The SKIMO unit can be adapted to most kinds of vehicles, including agricultural machinery, construction equipment and municipal vehicles. It is easy to install: no prior knowledge of air-conditioning is required, and no service station is necessary, since the unit comes pre-loaded with R134A refrigerant gas. Mounting and power connections are easily made and may be performed without any professional tools.
The SKIMO also offers high performance levels: it provides 2.9kW in cooling power for only 0.8kW electrical consumption. Given a 31°C outside temperature, the cabin interior will stabilise at 18°C, or at 25°C for a 41°C outside temperature.
The SKIMO is available as either a rooftop unit that may be cantilevered or, alternatively, as a split system with an outside unit (mounted onto the roof or on the side of the cabin) and an inside unit (fastened on the ceiling, on side panels or underneath the seats). This system allows for a variety of configurations.
The SKIMO unit offers a cooling power of 2.9 kW (40% humidity at 31°C). It is designed for a voltage of 12 or 24 Volts DC. The maximum air flow is 480m3/hour and power consumption is 750W at 31°C or 840W at 41°C.
All the components have been selected for their reliability and the SKIMO system meets relevant CEM and SAE standards.
