Sony is taking you on a joy ride with a new range of car stereos. Set your music free with the new generation of Sony Xplod® USB, iPod® 1-wire models, which gives you the convenience and freedom to connect with almost any digital music player all from one port.
The USB 1-wire feature means no more separate ports for different kinds of portable players. On a drive out with friends, they may want to share with you their latest music library. It doesn’t matter if it’s stored in a USB memory drive, iPod®, iPhone® or a Walkman®, simply plug and play from the same USB port. Not only does the USB 1-wire allow you to easily connect, but it also allows you to charge and control compatible digital music players* from the head unit. The CD/MP3/WMA/AAC player CDX-GT930UI gives you seamless connectivity, added security with a flip-down, detachable faceplate and a large 4-line fluorescent display. Other USB 1-wire models in the GT range are the CDX- GT730UI, CDX-GT630UI and CDX-GT530UI.
Adding an integrated Bluetooth® feature gives you a safer way to stay in contact while on the road. While you can stream music wirelessly from your Bluetooth mobile phone with this feature, more importantly you can make and receive phone calls hands-free. When a call comes in, your music is paused automatically, and you can talk with your hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road thanks to the built-in microphone. The Bluetooth car stereo models with USB 1-wire are the MEX-BT5700U, MEX-BT4700U and MEX-BT3700U.
The MEX-BT5700U is the crème de la crème of the Sony Xplod range with a Phonebook Access Profile (PBAP) functionality, which transfers your phone book information from your Bluetooth phone to its large 4-line display and allows control through the head unit. For added flexibility this model comes supplied with an external microphone in addition to the built-in microphone.
These new Sony car stereo models (presscentre.sony.eu) are reinforced with Sony’s original technologies: Digital Music Plus Advanced (DM+ Advanced), ZAPPIN™ and Quick-BrowZer™. Compressing audio can sometimes cause a loss in quality as the high frequencies are removed from the original source to make the file smaller. DM+ Advanced revitalizes your MP3 tracks by restoring these lost frequencies allowing you to hear more of your music. You don’t need to worry about how much your music has been compressed either, as DM+ Advanced is automatically optimized for any bitrate. Quick-BrowZer helps you quickly find tracks stored on your digital music players or MP3 encoded CDs. You can search by Artist, Album, Genre, Playlist, file or folder by simply rotating the volume dial and pressing to select. Sometimes you may not be sure of what you want to listen to. This is when ZAPPIN comes in handy. One touch of the ZAPPIN button begins scanning and playing clips of your music collection so you can find that specific song to fit the mood.

• The MEX-BT5700U, BT4700U, BT3700U, CDX-GT930UI, GT730UI, GT630UI and GT530UI car stereos consume less than 3.0mA in Standby mode, which reduces drain on battery and hence lowers fossil fuel consumption to charge battery using the vehicle’s engine.
Process
• The packaging cushions used to protect Sony’s car audio products during transport are made from paper, which is easily recyclable.
• Halogenated materials may pose a risk to the environment if disposed of improperly. To minimize this risk for the MEX-BT5700U, BT4700U, BT3700U, CDX-GT930UI, GT730UI, GT630UI and GT530UI, the flame retardants of all cover/housing parts and the printed circuit boards are halogen-free.
