Kentico Software, the Web content management system vendor, opens a new marketplace for add-ons for their Kentico CMS for ASP.NET. The marketplace allows the Kentico community to share Website templates, Web parts, modules and other add-ons. The company will run a competition for the best submission.
Kentico marketplace is open for any developer who has created an add-on for Kentico CMS for ASP.NET and wants to share it or sell it to other developers. It currently contains several items for download, such as Website templates, RSS reader and Google Search integration.
Developers can download the add-ons and rate them. On June 30, 2009, the company will announce the best-rated submission and the winner will get a gift VISA card valued at $1,000.
"Although Kentico CMS for ASP.NET provides a complete solution for Web sites, on-line stores and social networking, there will always be a space for community-created add-ons for some very specific needs," says Petr Palas, Kentico founder and CEO. "Kentico has an active community of thousands of developers who use the product every day. By launching the marketplace and running the competition, we would like to encourage them to share various extensions they created."
Kentico currently showcases the latest Kentico CMS 4.0 at the AIIM Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at booth 1348. Kentico will also exhibit at Internet World London at booth E7004 in April.
