The new S-Lens ion optics system in the TSQ Vantage employs novel electrostatic field technology to capture virtually every ion and efficiently transfer it into the Thermo Scientific HyperQuad quadrupole mass analyzer. The S-Lens design is a significant advance over high-pressure, skimmer-based ion source designs, as it eliminates mass discrimination and lowers the gas load on the expensive turbo-molecular pumps. This innovation keeps the ion optical path cleaner, for a longer period of time, while maintaining sensitivity.
To maximize the workflow capabilities of the advanced LC-MS/MS technologies, the company is releasing Thermo Scientific Transcend, a sample extraction system for the analysis of complex matrices on the mass spectrometer. The Transcend™ system doubles sample analysis while reducing sample preparation time and increasing detection limits. Transcend leverages instrument sensitivity, auto-sampling and LC columns to deliver the highest productivity platform in the market. This advanced online sample extraction system, coupled with highly sensitive MS/MS on the TSQ Vantage, provides an end-to-end workflow solution for analysis of drug and other organic molecules.
