Chart topping Bay area recording artist and producer/songwriter, D’Wayne Wiggins and local distinguished Businesswoman, Yulonda Washington, have teamed up to Proudly present the new Maxwell’s Soundstage.
Aimed at downtown Oakland residents and their Jack London Square neighbors, the new Maxwell’s Soundstage is taking entertainment and nightlife to new heights. Boasting ample seating throughout, a state of the art soundstage with lights for live artist performances and a sizable kitchen with casual and tasty menu options, the new Maxwell’s Soundstage is raising the bar and setting a new industry standard. Forget the nightclubs of yesteryear. Maxwell’s is on a whole “notha” level.
With memorabilia placed throughout the venue provided by some of Bay Areas hottest recording artists, guests are treated to special moments in urban music history while eating, drinking and having the time of their life. “Everyone wants to feel like a star and be in the company of one. Think of it as The House of Blues meets Hard Rock Café,” explained Wiggins about the format for the new Maxwell’s Soundstage. “We’re the only venue in the city that’s bringing Hollywood to the Oakland in a way that appeals to young Professional Urbanites as well as those in music industry.”
“It’s a huge opportunity for us,” Echoed Washington about the new venture with partner D’Wayne Wiggins. The highly accomplished duo joined forces earlier this year to fill a void left by other nightclubs that closed in the downtown area. “Young professionals in this area have literally been starving for a nightlife that understands their entertainment needs-which is exactly why we’re here. We’re going to give them exactly what they’re missing.”

As the founder member of the platinum selling R&B group, Tony! Toni! Tone’! and creator of many of their hit records, D’Wayne Wiggins has experienced firsthand what it takes to be a successful recording artist and business man. D’Wayne enjoys a flourishing career as a sought after musician, songwriter, producer and business man. His most recent business venture is the Oakland based JAVA house café which is a successful Café located in Oakland, California featuring Wiggins JAVA brand of organic coffee available in coffee houses nationally.
Yulonda Washington is a highly respected local businesswoman who holds a B.S. in Business Finance from San Francisco State University and has over 15 years experience in business development and marketing. Professionally she has held Finance Management positions for the Oakland JV Coliseum/Arena for over five years overseeing Event managers, Box office, and Revenues; she has also held the position of Finance Director for McCann Erickson Advertising, which is one of the top marketing corporations in the commercial advertising industry.
