NewswireToday - /newswire/ - Brussels, Belgium, 03/12/2009 - The SteelPlanner solution of AIS has been selected by Çolakoğlu Metalurji A.S. (Turkey) to optimize its production planning, scheduling, and control at the steel plant and hot rolling mill in Istanbul.

The project includes the roll out of AIS’ Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing Execution Systems solutions, as well as selected Advanced Planning and Scheduling.

On the planning side, the system covers production and quality planning as well as production scheduling. Included in the SteelPlanner solution for Çolakoğlu are advanced scheduling optimization modules like AlphaPlanner for the steel plant and BetaPlanner for the hot rolling mill.

With the Material and Transport Management system of intermediate and finished products including crane positioning systems, Çolakoğlu will have a comprehensive and integrated supply chain solution that will provide fast and reliable information of order status, available capacities, production situation, and transportation of intermediate and finished products.

The project started in January 2009 and is due to finish in June 2010.
