The energy-efficient daylighting company has announced that Building Information Modeling (BIM) resources are now available for download on its Website.

BIM is real-time software that allows users to visualize all building components before starting any physical construction. Architects and contractors, as well as design and construction professionals, are able to input their individual plans for one collective project into BIM software. The three-dimensional model produced allows all parties to see how the plans to incorporate Solatube Daylighting Systems fit together, or if there are clashes in design. BIM can also help determine specific building measurements, the quantity of materials necessary and even Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) sustainable design information.
The Solatube International Web site now features BIM objects that are filled with data and can easily be downloaded and customized for any residential or commercial project. These objects include the Solatube® Daylighting System flashing/dome, tubing and diffusers.
The new BIM objects are the latest set of tools to be added to the extensive technical resources available on the Solatube International Web site.
