Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. and the only provider of Services Oriented Storage Solutions, will be at CeBIT in hall 2, stand A20 showcasing its new concept of cost-effective analysis of storage infrastructure.
The company's key focus areas at CeBIT will be:
- Discussing the recently unveiled Storage Economics methodology that helps customers evaluate their storage requirements with the goal of reducing their operating expenditure. The methodology comprises a series of services and tools that help customers identify the total cost of storage ownership. Solutions include virtualisation and tiered storage strategies.
- Modular solutions – the AMS2000 series will be demonstrated on the stand. It is the first modular storage system to feature active load balancing by using an 'active active' controller which results in an extremely high performance system. It is supported by the integrated serial attached SCSI interface which ensures high performance and compliance with service level agreements is secured.
- Hitachi Data Systems will also be show-casing its NAS and archiving solutions including the Hitachi Network Attached Storage (HNAS) and Hitachi Content Archive Platform (HCAP).
“We are very excited to be at CeBIT again this year as it is a great opportunity to showcase our Storage Economics methodology," says Michael Väth, General Manager and Senior Vice President EMEA, Hitachi Data Systems. "We see 2009 being the year of virtualisation as it is the right tool to increase usability of any IT infrastructure. Our goal is to work with our customers to create a cost-efficient, automated and compliant storage environment. The Storage Economics methodology incorporates best practices in virtualisation to support transparency, availability and usability of existing infrastructural resources and reduces costs, both OPEX and CAPEX.”
