Conveyant Systems, Inc., today applauded the Executive Board of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) for their approval of an updated version of model legislation designed to help states develop statutes and rules regarding 911 calls made while using Multi-Line Telephone Systems (MLTS). This model legislation will ensure that, when implemented, 9-1-1 callers can be located when dialing from a business, shared tenant facility, hotel or similar enterprise environment.

“We applaud the Executive Board for their work in crafting this updated model legislation to reflect current changes in technology,” said Conveyant Systems' President Tim Kenyon. The advancements in technology have lead to the development of products and services which can be offered by companies such as Conveyant. By providing model legislation that enables states to embrace the newer technology available, they have provided a roadmap to ensure the safety of the American public without placing unreasonable technical or financial burdens on providers and users of multi-line telephone systems.”

“With over 20 years experience as a developer of E-911 and call answering solutions, Conveyant Systems is properly positioned to support our existing end user customer base, as well as our future customers, with the technology required to protect their employees, customers, students and guests, with affordable products and services to provide for the safety of those under their charge,” added Kenyon.

Information regarding Conveyant E-911 Solutions can be found on Conveyant Systems website.

The full text of the NENA press release can be viewed on the NENA website. In addition, the full text of the MLTS E911 Model Legislation, along with the companion Technical Information Document, as well as a list of existing state statutes can also be viewed on the NENA website.
