In what has become a rare showing among Las Vegas non-profits, a local businessman has anted up to help sick and injured children in Las Vegas at this Saturday’s “Children’s Miracle Mardi Gras Ball.” Chuck Brennan, owner of Clark County Collection Service, donated $25,000 to benefit the pediatric centers at St. Rose Hospitals in Las Vegas. The former entertainment executive went even further and tapped his celebrity connections to provide silent auction donations that are expected to net thousands more for the centers.
“Times are tough for local charities right now and I wanted to focus my giving with an organization that I truly believe in and support,” said Brennan. “From the moment I became involved in the event, I knew we could make it historic.”
Brennan used his celebrity connections to dream up live auction items sure to bring in some of the largest donations the annual event has received. Among them is “The Ultimate KISS Experience,” which includes VIP tickets to a concert, an autographed guitar, airfare, hotel, backstage passes and individual photos with the band. Keeping with the rock star theme, Brennan also arranged a private concert with RATT, the metal band made famous in the 80’s with hits like “Round and Round” and “Lay It Down.” The winning bidder and 500 friends will be treated to a private concert at a Station Casinos showroom.
“And one of my favorite items being auctioned is an “Ultimate Survivor Fan Experience,” said Brennan. “My dear friend and Survivor producer Mark Burnett helped me create this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the live season finale production of Survivor. These tickets are by invitation only to one of the most popular television shows in history.” Other packages up for bidding at the Mardi Gras Ball include a Lake Tahoe ski excursion, VIP tickets to an LA Lakers game and a VIP concert experience at Caesar’s Palace with Cher, Bette Midler and Elton John.
St. Rose Dominican Hospitals’ 52nd Annual Mardi Gras Ball is the signature fund raising event of St. Rose and its Health Foundation. This year, proceeds from the event will benefit the Pediatric Centers at St. Rose to help expand services for pediatric patients and their families.
To help meet the growing demand for state-of-the-art pediatric services in our community, St. Rose aims to expand pediatric specialties such as cardiology and diabetes; enhance pediatric services such as child life (helping families deal with the interruption in a child’s normal routine while in the hospital) and community outreach and wellness programs; and to provide resources for state-of-the-art surgical areas, emergency care and equipment.
Clark County Collection Service, LLC (cccscollect.com) was founded in 2001 by Brennan and his wife Mary Chatelle. The company provides professional debt collection services and has been recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of America's top 500 fastest growing companies.
