Moscow, Russia, 02/13/2009 - Emirates SkyCargo, a freight division of Emirates, Duba-based international airline, organized a presentation for cargo agents, dedicated to the launch of second daily flight on Moscow-Dubai route.

Starting March 1st, 2009, Emirates will launch its second daily service from Moscow to Dubai providing its cargo partners with even more opportunities for transporting of various types of cargo.
Dmitry Salichev, Emirates SkyCargo Area Manger for Russia and CIS, described all the advantages of the second frequency for cargo agents. Among new opportunities are – more convenient connections with over 100 of Emirates destinations worldwide, extended cargo capacity, and even better cut-off time in Moscow. For example, a bulky and heavy shipment (weight 5 tonnes; dimensions 3x2x1.55m) placed at Domodedovo airport warehouse by 20:00 will be delivered to any major airport in Europe by 12:00PM next day. Within 24 hours the cargo will reach any major airport in Australia, New Zealand, as well as Middle East, South-East Asia, North America, Persian Gulf, Africa, Indian subcontinent and Asia Pacific. Such transit time comparable to that of direct flight combined with possibilities of transporting heavy and bulky loads, will provide Russian exporters with unique logistic chains and guarantee speedy delivery of cargos across Emirates SkyCargo’s network with connection in Dubai.
Enhanced capacities of new Cargo Mega Terminal – a cargo handling facility of Emirates SkyCargo in Dubai International Airport can handle up to 1.2 million tonnes of cargo per year. The Cargo Mega Terminal is designed as one of the world’s-most advanced cargo facility, incorporating the latest technology and operations at the highest levels of efficiency enabling a better than 99% flown as booked levels of service quality. On January 16th, 2009 Emirates SkyCargo set new record of cargo capacity on the Moscow-Dubai route. Boeing 777-300 (flight EK 134) transferred 30765 kg of commercial cargo in addition to passengers and their luggage. With introduction of the second daily flight from Moscow to Dubai Emirates SkyCargo’s capacity will increase to 220 tonnes weekly.
Currently Emirates’ flights to Dubai are served by the airline’s Boeing 777 series aircraft, with ability to carry up to 23 tonnes with full passenger load. The second daily flight will be served by wide-body Airbus A330-200, with the capacity of 17 tonnes with full passengers load. Emirates cargo partners will have an opportunity to handle up to 40 tonnes and 202 cubic meters of cargo. Both types of aircraft allow transporting bulky and heavy cargo thanks to the special equipment and dimensions of cargo hold.
Starting March 1, 2009, Emirates will start operating second daily flight, leaving Moscow Domodedovo airport for Dubai at 23:40 (EK 132) landing in Dubai International Airport at 05:55 the next day. The return flight EK 131 will depart from Dubai at 17:40 and land in Moscow at 22:05.
Currently, the main products arriving in Moscow via Emirates SkyCargo are flowers from Africa, pharmaceuticals from the Indian subcontinent and meat from Australia and New Zealand.
