John Wiley & Sons Asia Pte Ltd Presents - 'India Business Checklists: An Essential Guide to Doing Business'

NewswireToday - /newswire/ - Singapore, Singapore, 02/13/2009 - Directed primarily toward busy multinational executives who need, in a compact form, a way of thinking about all the issues relating to doing business in India (ISBN: 978-0-470-82421-4).

Since 1991 when the Indian government substantially liberalized its economic and industrial policy, India has become increasingly interesting to foreign companies – both as a market as well as a site for outsourcing. The economy has grown by six to eight percent annually as companies rush to lower their costs and grab nascent markets. However, enticing as the market may be, India has always been a tough place to do business.

In the new book published by John Wiley & Sons (Asia) Pte Ltd, India Business Checklists: An Essential Guide to Doing Business (ISBN: 978-0-470-82421-4), author Rupa K. Bose creates an accessible and intensely practical reference guide directed at busy multinational executives who need, in a compact form, a systematic way of thinking about all the issues related to doing business in India.

The 60 checklists within this book cover every topic from the essential elements of doing business in India and basic travel tips, to various business and legal issues. Based on the author’s extensive personal experience, as well as on the in-depth interviews she conducted with a large number of businesspeople both in India and overseas, and substantiated by case studies reputable multinationals including Coca Cola, Crocs, Audi, Vodafone, Amway and many others, India Business Checklists offers real insight into the problems (and opportunities) facing foreign firms. It is an essential resource for companies and individuals – ensuring that they enter the Indian market well-equipped and imbibed with realistic expectations.

Ms. Bose added, “India is a difficult place to do business. This book of checklists is meant to prepare the expatriate businessperson and entrepreneur for the complexities and realities of doing business in India.”
