Touted for more than 30 years for its legendary durability and performance, INVISTA’s CORDURA® fabrics have been selected by JanSport®, the original outdoor gear Brand that equips people globally with quality backpacks, travel gear and collegiate apparel, to construct a number of models in its new Heritage Series.
The JanSport Heritage Series is a modern and honest re-issue of the Brand’s original backpack and travel silhouettes that got their start in 1967. JanSport has utilized classic looking 1000 denier CORDURA® brand fabrics for a number of pieces in the new Series, and each pack is pre-washed to give a weathered retro feel similar to that of JanSport’s original collection.
“Early on, JanSport recognized the value of using the most durable materials to create long-lasting products,” said Allen Mortimer, North American marketing manager for INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand. “With the new Heritage Series we continue to use CORDURA® fabrics to showcase the exceptional quality and true essence of JanSport’s original products.”

The following JanSport Heritage packs are made with CORDURA® brand fabric and are available in six colors – black, boulder blue, retro orange, buckthorn brown, birch brown, and new cilantro green:
• Hoss;
• L’il Hoss;
• The Heads Up;
• Snoqualmie Duffel;
• Westridge.
Coming soon in Fall 2009, JanSport will also incorporate high performance CORDURA® fabrics into many of its signature bags.
The relationship between the CORDURA® brand and JanSport spans more than 30 years, and to celebrate that history, JanSport will be the first to showcase the CORDURA® brand’s newly designed CORDURA® brand hangtag.
