Ann Arbor Piano Teachers Team Up with Max & Erma's to Raise Money

(Newswire Today) —  Ann Arbor, MI, United States, 2009-01-26 - The Ann Arbor Area Piano Teachers Guild Foundation (AAAPTGF) has teamed up with Max & Erma’s Restaurant of Ann Arbor for a fundraiser on January 29, 2009.

The money raised will go toward the Foundation’s new “StepUP for Music” program that supports scholarships and financial assistance for area music students and teachers.

“StepUP for Music is a brand new program for us, and the Max & Erma’s event will help raise money for this program,” said Judy Hanway, Vice President of AAAPTGF. “We’re trying to find interesting, creative ways of fundraising for the new program, and this event fits right in.”

The new StepUP for Music program combines a variety of donation and fundraising initiatives that raise money to help music students whose families are struggling with job loss or financial crisis, provide additional music camp scholarships for students, increase monetary awards for students participating in AAAPTGF events and competitions, and to support additional teacher enrichment grants or needs-based assistance.

“The Max & Erma’s fundraiser is perfect for our students and their families to participate in, as well as their friends and neighbors,” said Hanway. “Everybody has to eat, right? So why not go out to eat and support a great cause at the same time!”

To participate, just download the flyer online and bring it to the restaurant – the more you eat and drink, the more money the AAAPTGF can raise, as 20% of each check is donated back to the Foundation. Just give the flyer to the wait staff at the restaurant; it can be used for lunch, dinner, and carry-out, however, the flyer cannot be used for buying gift cards.

Further information on the Max & Erma’s fundraiser event and the StepUP for Music program can both be found on the AAAPTGF’s website.
