As part of the revision cycle, the committee for the NFPA 70, The National Electrical Code, Code Making Panel 11, recently convened for a Report on Proposals (ROP) meeting January 15-17 in Hilton Head, S.C.
The NFPA standards-making process allows the public to submit proposals for change or modification to the existing standards. The purpose of the ROP meeting was for the committee to comment and vote on proposals submitted to the NFPA regarding changes to the 2011 National Electrical Code.
Ron Widup, executive vice president of Shermco Industries and member of the CMP-11 committee said, “We have reviewed and discussed the proposals submitted to the committee, presented a proposed committee action, and voted to accept or reject the recommended action taken by the committee. It was a very thorough and complete process.”
