In Pavilion 7-2 of the Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles (Paris), spread over a 27,000m2 surface area (30% larger than the 2007 event), SITL Real Time 2009 will welcome 500 exhibitors – about 100 more than the previous trade show. Exhibitors will be divided into five sectors: transport and logistics services; logistics infrastructures; logistics real estate; transport and logistics technology and information systems; and, finally, transport and material-handling equipment.

As is the case at each SITL Real Time, all branches of the logistics and transport sector will be represented. A particular feature in 2009 will be the strong presence of the transport and material-handling equipment sector, with the confirmed attendance at the event of leading specialists in forklifts and continuous handling systems.

One of the highlights of SITL Real Time 2009 will be the attendance of numerous transport SMEs, representing the extensive regional services available both within France and across Europe. The show’s organisers are keen to strengthen this feature of the event, with pavilions representing several French regions: Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Normandy, Brittany-Pays de la Loire, and Languedoc-Roussillon. The Transport SME Club, founded in 2007, will also be present and will federate companies from all countries.

SITL Real Time will once again organise 15 half-hour exhibitor workshops in 2009; each one will present a specific technology, or explore a given technology in more depth, or outline a new service. These workshops will survey all the different sectors covered at the exhibition.

Four plenary conferences will be dedicated to the theme of logistics performance: logistics performance in France; performance of transport and logistics companies; increased logistics performance thanks to new technologies; and the impact of e-commerce on the evolution of logistics performance. There will also be a further 10 thematic conferences to round off the cycle of discussions.

The Logistics Innovation Awards, which are usually awarded during the show, will mark their 10th anniversary with a separate event to be held in June 2009. At SITL Real Time 2009, an innovation gallery will showcase all the competing entries, which should be submitted before 27 February 2009. These awards are open to the entire profession in the following Best Innovation categories: Transport and Logistics Services; Logistics Information Systems; Facilities & Logistics Sites; Materials-Handling Equipment; and E-commerce Logistics Services. There are also awards for the best transport and logistics organisation linked to sustainable development.
