The Russell Bedford accounting group has announced the strengthening of its coverage in Central Europe by the appointment of two associated practices, Balogh és Társai Könyvvizsgáló Kft (Balogh & Co. Audit Ltd) and Starttax Inf. és Gazd. Tanácsadó Kft (Starttax IT & Financial Consulting Ltd) as correspondent firms in Hungary.
Starttax was established 1992 by Mr Béla Balogh as a family-owned business providing accounting and financial consulting services, playing a pioneer role after the transition of the country to a market economy. With steady and continuous growth over the last 16 years, it currently has more than 85 clients ranging from private individuals to medium-sized companies.
The audit practice, Balogh & Co., was established in 1998 by a team of auditors led by Béla Balogh. It now has some 75 clients.
Before establishing his own accounting firm, Béla Balogh gained extensive experience in the fields of economics and financial audit with the Hungarian branch of one of the now Big-4 firms. His main areas of expertise are financial and operational analysis, valuation, strategic planning, investment and financial planning, tax optimisation, and management of mergers, acquisitions and de-mergers.
Sándor Rácz is a joint founder of Balogh & Co. Sándor's background is in the areas of agrarian economics as a manager in cooperative societies.
He qualified as a registered tax adviser and became a certified accountant.
He then joined the Budapest Bank, specialising in strategic and operational control, facility management and investment analysis. He qualified as an auditor in 1997. His areas of expertise are accounting, audit, compliance reviews and optimisation of business processes.
The audit practice is subject to regular quality assurance reviews by the Chamber of Hungarian Auditors.
The associated practices share offices in the town of Vác, close to the capital, Budapest.
In addition to their native Hungarian, members of the group's personnel are also able to communicate in English, German and Russian. The group has clients operating in several overseas countries including France, Italy, Romania, Slovakia and Israel.
