Remedios T. Romualdez Memorial Schools - Makati Medical Center's College of Nursing announced today the successful deployment of their campus-wide WiFi implementation to improve the efficiency and security of communication between the school's students and faculty members.

From the main Makati Medical Center building to the Kalayaan building, laptop and mobile phone users (with WiFi) may now access websites, send and receive emails, and even download multimedia from any point within the campus.

Commissioned to implement RTRMS' WiFi project was IPSYSTEMS Inc. The term “WiFi” is the name of a popular wireless networking technology that uses radio waves to provide wireless high-speed Internet and network connections. The WiFi Alliance, the organization that owns the WiFi (registered trademark) term specifically defines WiFi as any "wireless local area network (WAN) products that are based on the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' (IEEE) 802.11 standards." WiFi generally makes access to information between devices from different manufacturers or source easier, as it can eliminate some of the physical restraints of wiring.
