Last month internet marketing agency Juretic Media were crowned SEO Quiz Champions.
The SEO quiz was organised and hosted by Leapfrogg and took place in The Sovereign pub, Preston Street, with several local firms invited including Worth, Nixon McInnes, Propellernet, iCrossing, Fresh Egg and Oban MultiLingual.
The competition was organised to bring local SEO companies together, to swap ideas and a build a Brighton SEO community. Brighton has long been renowned for being a media hub and nicknamed ‘Silicon Beach’, it was time that those at the forefront of Brighton technology got together to talk about all things ‘Web 2.0’.
Cathy Ma, Community Manager for Yahoo!®, was flown in as quiz master with a list of questions relating to the internet as a whole, Search Engine Optimisation, Social Networking, Social Networks, Web 2.0, Paid Search and of course the odd Christmas related question was thrown in for good measure.
The winning team, ‘The Vinatrons’, comprised Rob Camp ‘Online Marketing Manager’, Vinay Chandrasekaian ‘Search Analyst’, Jennie Wallace ‘Communications Manager’, Martin Gordon ‘Senior Designer’, Ed Philips ‘Developer’ and Neven Juretic, Managing Director, who are now basking in SEO glory and kudos of the Brighton firms.
“Our team was unlike any of the others entered into the competition, in that we were made up of a multi disciplined group of people” explained Neven Juretic, Managing Director, “and it is this ethos that runs through the company, with everyone bringing something different to our team.”
“Because we are not just about SEO, we are able to see the bigger picture and not only get the traffic to our client’s sites but get them converting into sales and enquiries too”, explains Jennie Wallace, Communication Manager.
The SEO champions are now looking forward to the next SEO Pub Quiz, which is due to take place in the first quarter of 2009.
