The production agreement with Wabash National will allow PODS to continue their tremendous growth, while ensuring that the PODS® containers are unsurpassed in the industry.
One of the largest and most recognized brands in the storage and moving industry, PODS has over 137,000 containers in use today.
“As industry leaders, both PODS and Wabash are excited about our new DuraPlate containers that are not only made in the U.S.A., but will result in greater efficiencies for PODS,” said Tom Ryan, president and chief executive officer of PODS. “Since DuraPlate is made from steel and plastic materials, each unit will be 100 percent recyclable and are highly eco-friendly.”
“Our proven DuraPlate panel technology provides opportunity for us to grow into other market segments,” said Dick Giromini, president and chief executive officer of Wabash National. “Our new partnership with PODS helps to jumpstart that effort.”
“PODS is a company that has a strong business plan for growth,” said Jamie Scarcelli, vice president and general manager of DuraPlate Products Group, “and Wabash National will be right there with PODS as they grow, providing the best American-made container in the business.”
The new PODS® containers have a steel frame construction with completely recyclable panels made of steel skins and a high-density polyethylene core and are available in three sizes: approximately 8-by-8-by-7 feet, 8-by-8-by-12 feet and 8-by-8-by-16 feet. Delivery to the field is expected as early as January 2009.
