n|Frame, Indiana’s most experienced co-location and data center services provider, announced today that it is on target to close out a banner 2008 and is poised for an even stronger 2009. n|Frame’s continued success is due to multiple factors, including the launch of several new products and services, physical expansion of the data center and growth in staff and customers, among other accomplishments.
In 2008, n|Frame introduced a proactive monitoring service designed to provide IT managers with 24/7 visibility into the health of their organizations’ data and applications. With n|Vision, n|Frame alerts customers to issues such as servers reaching thresholds and provides them with report cards including historical performance trending and uptime statistics.
“Companies often have limited IT resources and rely on break-fix operations,” says n|Frame’s Chief Operating Officer Robert J. Alcorn. “They are so busy managing the network infrastructure — in addition to hundreds of users and desktops — they often can only react as-needed when a device or the network fails. n|Vision is like adding another employee who monitors the network 24/7.”
n|Frame also launched services related to their customers’ expressed needs for scalable IT solutions as the amount of data, number of applications and degree of traffic on their networks constantly change. A storage on-demand solution for SAN systems was launched allowing customers to purchase storage on an as-needed basis, thereby eliminating the capital cost of SAN solutions. The process of extending a customer’s computing resources through virtualization also was integral to n|Frame’s success in 2008, as was the addition of a high-density computing data center. This “data center within a data center” maximizes customer infrastructure for extreme computing efficiency, high availability and up to 99.999% uptime.
Mid-year, n|Frame completed its SAS 70 Type II audit of its co-location and managed services. Specific aspects of evaluation included the organization and administration of n|Frame’s data center and managed services, operational and network controls, physical security, environmental controls (such as power and cooling) and managed services controls.
“This third-party assessment validates the accuracy and integrity of our services while documenting our high standards and consistent performance,” said Alcorn. “It’s just one of the many ways we provide accountability to our clients and assure them that the data and applications they entrust us with are safeguarded 24/7.”
n|Frame also earned recognition in 2008 in the form of ranking among the top 10 global IT infrastructure outsourcing suppliers in mid-tier markets, according to an unbiased survey by the Black Book of Outsourcing. Among individual criteria measured, n|Frame ranked third globally in support and customer care as the company significantly exceeds client expectations, the report stated. Similarly, n|Frame ranked fourth overall in trust, which means that the company’s clients believe n|Frame has the people, processes and resources in place to effectively deliver the desired business results. n|Frame also was named within the top 10 for innovation, reliability, client relationships and breadth of service offerings, among all global IT outsourcing service providers.
Finally, to support the above initiatives and manage the company’s continued growth, throughout 2008 n|Frame added three new staff members and promoted several key staff members to strategic positions.
