The Eighth Annual Storage Visions Conference held at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada January 6 & 7, 2009 features great sessions on consumer applications and storage, as well as a Young User Panel.

Coughlin Associates predicts that consumer devices will be a key enabler of disruptive technologies shaping the next economic recovery. Furthermore these devices increasingly depend upon digital storage to provide their features and value.

According to Robert Thibadeau of Seagate Research, "Storage Visions offers a compelling proposition. I know of no comparable event for meeting old and new customers and partners. The 2009 Storage Visions Conference is a very cost effective way to meet the entire storage industry in one place and time."

On Tuesday January 6, 2009 at 4 PM the “I’m Your Future, Hear Me Roar” session will explore what late teens and early 20’s people want in digital storage and consumer electronics. This is an outstanding opportunity to find out from the most avid users of consumer products what they really want.

On Wednesday January 7, 2009 starting at 8 AM the “Storing Stuff in CE Devices” session will give attendees the chance to see the latest in storage technology and how this technology is allowing leading designers of consumer products to meet critical needs of consumers.

Participants in this session include Amber Huffman, Principal Engineer, Intel; Bob Bilbruck, Managing Director, Mobiletain and On Device Portal Consortium; Debasis Baral, Vice President, Samsung Information Systems America; Robert Pierce, Senior Director, Denali Software; Tony Kim, Senior Technical Manager, Samsung Semiconductor; Steve Georgis, Founder General Manager RDX Business, Prostor Systems; and David Hirning, Vice President and Co-Founder, DL Squared.

Following this session and the Panasonic keynote speaker, will be an enlightening session on “Enabling Technologies for Rich Content Consumer Electronics”. This session looks closely at storage and other technologies that will enable richer content, used in more ways and for longer periods before recharging. Learn how to design killer applications and how they will work.

Participants in this session include Don Barnetson, Sr. Director of Marketing, SanDisk; Patty Kim, Product Marketing Manager, Toshiba America Information Systems; Mario Morales, VP, IDC; Jim Handy, Chief Analyst, Objective Analysis; Kurt Petersen, President, KP-MEMS; Robert Barry, Director Business Development, Team Research; and hubbert Smith, Samsung.
