Ampac Flexibles, the flexible packaging division of Ampac Packaging LLC, announces the installation of a new Windmoeller & Hoelscher extrusion system in its Auburn, Washington, facility.
Installation of the new W&H Varex® extruder has given Ampac’s Auburn plant the ability to increase the output and variety of innovative multilayer film structures. The new high speed W&H line increases Ampac’s film capacity, providing improved service to key target markets. The new extruder offers improved capabilities for continuous improvement in servicing the fresh and frozen food markets as well as to provide quality sealant webs to the converter industry.
Ampac’s new extrusion line is part of the company’s capital growth strategy and commitment to high quality packaging. In addition to the new line, Ampac worked with W&H to upgrade an existing extrusion system that was installed in 2004. “Ampac Flexibles is committed to meeting our customers’ increasing requirements for high quality extrusion and flexible packaging at a price and delivery that keep them competitive in this quickly changing marketplace,” says Sal Pellingra, Innovation and Marketing Director of Ampac Flexibles.

Windmoeller & Hoelscher, based in Langerich, Germany, is a major supplier of advanced flexographic and gravure printing presses, blown and cast film extrusion systems, multiwall bag making machines, as well as form, fill, and seal (FFS) equipment for the flexible packaging industry.
