Fifty IT trainers will be able to undertake the newly launched ROLF Diploma in IT Training this year by blended-learning. The diploma has been launched by trainer development firm, The Fourth Level, to meet the needs of IT trainers who want to substantially develop themselves within the constraints of a budget.
"The ROLF Diploma in IT Training is ubercool", says John Salt, Partner of The Fourth Level and known to many as the IT Training Doctor. "It's a blended learning programme that will be familiar to IT trainers as being Web 2.0 based. For example candidates update their progress using Blogger.com, use SurveyMonkey.com to evaluate improvements in their training, and meet with fellow ROLFers online".
In addition each candidate for the diploma is sent a digital camcorder and a tripod, which are theirs to keep, so that they can record some of their real training sessions for discussion with their coach. "The diploma programme is very much embedded into the trainer's real work", adds Salt.
The training methodology itself is also very '2.0', says fellow business partner, Maria Smith. "Whereas the vast majority of training practice is based on behaviourist learning theory, ROLF is based on cutting-edge constructivist principles that studies show to lead to better post-training results."
"We limit the number of places available for the ROLF Diploma", explains Smith, "so that each person undertaking the programme can be guaranteed to have plenty of attention from their ROLF coach."
The first wave of IT trainers to undertake the diploma programme will commence in July 2006.
