Raleigh, NC, United States, 2006/03/18 - Advanced meeting facilitation certification program--A 3-day certification program for more effective and productive meeting facilitation in Raleigh.
The three-day intensive Advanced Meeting Facilitation Certification provides an in-depth, intensive program to give participants principles and tools to facilitate more productive and effective meetings and eliminate common meeting “time wasters”.
According to the National Statistics Council, 37 percent of employee time is spent in meetings. Many meetings are considered “time wasters” by participants and management and unproductive meetings are estimated to cost thousands and sometimes millions of dollars for many companies. With such a large portion of time dedicated to meetings, employees need tools to provide more effective meetings and avoid prevalent “time wasters” found in today’s workplace.
Common meeting problems include lack of focus, ineffective use of a company’s time and resources and lack of action from meetings. The Advanced Meeting Facilitation Certification program provides solutions to produce more effective meetings, including 10 principles of facilitation, meeting planning guidelines, methods to manage group energy and communication, 6 tools to encourage active participation and decision making strategies.
“Effective and productive meetings require mastery of both meeting processes and group dynamics. The Advanced Meeting Facilitation Certification Program provides participants with the knowledge and skills to facilitate groups across all levels of the organization. Participants will have extensive opportunities to practice and receive feedback on their meeting facilitation skills, so that they can confidently apply what they have learned in the workplace,” says Theresa Brett, Chief Learning Officer.
Tom Stratton, the program leader, is a practicing professional facilitator with ongoing responsibility for facilitating global, regional, and local teams and numerous events. Facilitation has included groups of all sizes, from all levels in the organization with time frames ranging from 30 minutes to week long events.
The Advanced Meeting Facilitation Certification program takes place at Wesleyan College on April 4, 11, and 18.
