Concentra, one of the nation’s leading health care companies, recently launched a new pilot program for employers, helping to provide quality and affordable health care coverage to countless uninsured employees. Concentra’s new Concentive$ certificates program uses clear and up-front pricing of medical services to help reduce employees’ out-of-pocket costs, and enhance the accessibility and availability of quality health care.
Currently being piloted at all 11 Concentra Medical Centers in Houston, the new Concentive$ program allows employers to deliver health care savings to employees who otherwise might not have health coverage, including seasonal, temporary, part-time, and new employees in a benefits waiting period. Here’s how it works: Concentra provides booklets of Concentive$ to employer clients, wherein employers issue the Concentive$ certificate to uninsured employees and they receive a basic office visit (visit includes clinical exam, patient history, rapid test performed in office, and prescription written – as deemed necessary by medical provider) at any participating Concentra Urgent Care for $75. No appointment is ever necessary, and unlike a visit to the emergency room, there are no surprise bills weeks after the visit.
“At Concentra, our mission is to improve America’s health, one patient at a time. With each Concentive$ certificate, we can help one more uninsured employee receive the skillful and respectful medical care they deserve,” said Bill Lewis, M.D., Senior Vice President of Medical Operations for Concentra. “Concentive$ balances an employee’s well-being with a company’s well-being, so employees can get back to life, and employers can get back to business.”
With a Concentive$ certificate, employees will receive quality, efficient medical care at a Concentra Urgent Care medical center at a significantly reduced rate. The Concentive$ certificates can also provide additional savings for employees under a high-deductible group health insurance plan or with out-of-network insurance. Any additional testing needed would be charged at a discounted rate of 20 percent and may impact the final cost of the visit.
Concentra plans to extend the Concentive$ certificates program to all its employer clients in 2009, and be redeemable in all of its 321 medical center locations across the country. Concentra Urgent Care (ConcentraUrgentCare.com) delivers treatment for a wide range of minor injuries and illnesses, including skin infections, broken bones, seasonal allergies, and many other conditions, as well as wellness services such as immunizations, physicals, and vaccinations. With locations throughout the nation, many with weekend and extended evening hours, Concentra delivers the care you need, when you need it most.
