Trivandrum, Kerala, India, 11/28/2008 - InApp CEO, Amarnath Raja has been selected as a Member of the Region 10 2009 Executive Committee of IEEE. As part of Execom, he will be the Regional Humanitarian Technology Challenge (HTC) Coordinator for the Asia-Pacific region.

The IEEE is the largest technical professional body in the world with more than 350,000 members. It has a standards body and is the largest publisher of literature on Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
The Humanitarian Technology Challenge (HTC) is a unique collaborative approach for solving some of humanity's most pressing needs. The HTC aims to develop and implement technological responses to selected humanitarian challenges in developing countries. The objective is to create sustainable solutions that can be implemented locally, within the environmental, cultural, structural, political, and socio-economic conditions where they will be deployed. The HTC will also define repeatable processes and models that can be used to address future challenges.
Amarnath Raja is an active member of IEEE and has received special mention in the IEEE 2005 Annual report for his technological and humanitarian efforts in the Asian Tsunami Relief. He helped in creating the NGO Co-ordination & Resource Centre (NCRC). He continues to be a steering committee member of NCRC. He is also a Managing Committee Member of the Computer Society of India (CSI), Trivandrum Chapter and an active promoter of Open Source Technology.
