Henderson, NV, United States, 11/23/2008 - Corona Bowling Illustrated Challenge Cup at the Silver Nugget Casino on December 14 has attracted bowlers worldwide who want to qualify and try to upend Billy Platt, who will challenge the survivor of the four bowlers who are presently qualifying.

Seventeen year old bowling phenom Billy Platt will defend his Corona Bowling Illustrated Challenge Cup Championship on December 14 at the Silver Nugget Casino in N Las Vegas. The youngster won the initial Challenge Cup on September 30 by defeating a field that included ten time Team USA bowler David Haynes, LPBT Bowler Adrianne Barela, Senior bowling star Gary Trosen (bowled 300 games in 4 decades), and Panamanian bowling star Gregorio Daisley.
In the December 14 matchup, bowlers from around the country- in fact around the world- have come to the Silver Nugget Casino, which is located at the top of the Las Vegas Strip, to qualify for the four open spots. The survivor of these four bowlers meet Billy Platt for the Championship to culminate the TV event.
“We’ve been amazed at the notoriety that this tournament has already gained,” said PBA bowler and Silver Nugget Bowling Director Eric Heflin. “The interest in qualifying has been amazing and we should have four outstanding bowlers to challenge Billy Platt.”
TVS Television Network will again be televising the event, utilizing the New Tek Tricaster Studio, which provides network quality TV production facilities without the need for a production truck. It will appear on TV4U.Com, the 42 channel free internet television network and on the Mizlou-TVSports.Com streaming IPTV network that will debut in December. It will also appear on cable network TV syndication and broadcast TV syndication.
The announcers will be long time Las Vegas sports announcer Ron Futrell and Eric Heflin will provide color commentary. Paul Alvarez is the Producer / Director and the Executive Director of TVS Sports is Charry Kennedy.
“In the 1970’s and 80’s we telecast our bowling from the Showboat Casino in Las Vegas,” said Mizlou TV Sports CEO Vic Piano, “and then in the 1990’s we telecast from Sam’s Town. Now, we’re at the Silver Nugget Casino, which we consider to be a top TV bowling facility and our bowling home for many years.”
The Silver Nugget Bowling Center is a 24 lane AMF facility offering both league play and open play seven days a week. The Center is equipped with a state-of-the-art scoring system, snack bar, air hockey tables, lockers and a fully equipped Pro Shop. In addition, there is an Arcade for the kids and a bar for the adults near by.
A special attraction to the December 14 televised bowling event at the Silver Nugget Casino is the TV4U $10,000 Holiday Gift Giveaway, where TV4U is providing 800 gifts valued at $10,000 to be distributed to the fans who attend the bowling show at the Silver Nugget Casino on December 14.
