New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome is working with familes, teachers and other education professionals to ensure the best possible environment for learning and success for the 28,000 New Jersey children with Tourette Syndrome. TS is often accompanied by other disorders such as attention deficit disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, anxiety and rage. These conditions make learning a challenge, but help is available.

According to a new British survey, more than one in six school aged children have some form of "learning difficulty." Mindroom, a nonprofit, surveyed more than 120,000 kids and found 17.2 percent have been diagnosed with issues including ADHD and Tourette Syndrome. It is estimated that 1 in 200 children in New Jersey has Tourette Syndrome. That's why NJCTS provides services to families and educators. This way, the 28,000 New Jersey children with TS will receive proper support in the home and the classroom.

NJCTS, through in-service workshops and other professional development opportunities, provides classroom teachers, guidance counselors and other education professionals with strategies for helping students with TS reach their full potential. NJCTS has provided this service, free of charge, to over 50,000 teachers.
