Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, announces that Chiatai Qingchunbao Pharmaceutical Co Ltd., a world-renowned pharmaceutical company based in HangZhou China, has chosen the Antaris™ MX FT-NIR process analyzer to perform online sample analysis in its traditional Chinese medicine manufacturing facilities. With the Thermo Scientific Antaris platform fully installed in the production line, it now takes Chiatai Qingchunbao less than 30 seconds to analyze samples compared with traditional time-consuming methods which could take several hours to complete. The Antaris analyzer has greatly increased Chiatai Qingchunbao’s productivity, leading to significant time savings.
According to Chiatai Qingchunbao, one of the primary reasons for specifying the Antaris FT-NIR was Thermo Fisher’s proven track record in providing cost-effective instruments and strong customer support. By using the Antaris analyzer, Chiatai Qingchunbao brings cutting-edge technology into its production line. By introducing advanced Western pharmaceutical technology, the company is leading the way with its modern approach to the production of traditional Chinese medicine.
As part of the manufacturing process, Chiatai Qingchunbao carries out sample analysis in its distilling plant where, until recently, samples had to be removed and tested individually. Although an effective method, this type of analysis proved to be extremely inefficient, leading the company to seek an alternative method. Chiatai Qingchunbao looked to NIR with the goal of saving time and increasing productivity. For Chiatai Qingchunbao, NIR offers a faster alternative to liquid chromatography techniques which were time-consuming. Using NIR in the process, samples from larger batches can be inspected, which ensures more constant product quality because Chiatai Qingchunbao can now control the production process with standard criteria.
