The Tarheel Jr Golf Tour will play a 36 hole event February 28-March 1, 2009. Boys and Girls 18 & under may play.

Today the Tarheel Junior Golf Tour officially announced that it will hold a nationally ranked junior golf tournament at the University of North Carolina Finley Golf Course. Finley Golf Course is home to the Mens' and Womens' NCAA Division I golf programs.

This event is part of the Tarheel Golf Foundation's "lower total cost of participation program" for elite junior golfers. The Tarheel Golf Foundation's program is designed to bring national exposure and rankings to local events to eliminate much of the costs associated with competing in high level junior golf tournaments. "We are pleased to offer a really great golf course to North Carolina junior golfers as part of our tour. This is one fine test of skill and should challenge the top ranked junior golfers on North Carolina. We are also pleased to be able to price our event at a fraction of what the national tours charge for the same venue", said TGF Director, Eric Murray. "The Tarheel Jr Tour membership list continues to grow and includes many of the top rated junior golfers in North Carolina. We also have fine players from Virgina, South Carolina and other states. This North Carolina junior golf tournament is he second in a series announced events for the Tarheel Jr Tour in 2009. The first event will be held at Duke University in Durham, NC January 24-25. The Duke Golf Club is home to the Blue Devil's Golf Teams. Both UNC-Finley and Duke Golf Courses are conveniently located, just 30-minutes from Raleigh-Durham International Airport. These North Carolina Junior Golf Tournaments are open to junior players from anywhere in the world.
