The Tarheel Junior Golf Tour has announced that its 2009 season will open January 24-25, 2009 at The Wshington Duke Inn and Golf Course at Duke University. This junior golf tournament is open to players that have not yet graduated from high school. The event is part of the Tarheel Golf Foundation's Elite series of North Carolina Junior Golf Tournaments for boys and girls that are interested in playing collegiate golf. The tour runs from January - December and hosts 15 nationally ranked tournaments that are open to junior golfers that have not yet reached the age of 18, or have not yet graduated from high school. The tour is open to US and International players.
"The Tarheel Junior Tour has a membership that includes some of the nations top ranked junior golfers and we are excited about the high quality of competition that will be on display at Duke University in January", stated Eric Murray, Director of Tournament Operations. The Duke University Golf Course is situated on the campus of Due University in Durham, NC and is one of the nation's leading college golf courses. "We are excited about this opportunity to bring our Low total cost of participation approach to a golf tournament at Duke University, participants will find our entry fees to be among the lowest for a nationally ranked event at such a fine golf course. Other tours are playing at this same golf course just a few weeks after we are at Duke with entry fees that are several hundred dollars more."
The Tarheel Junior Tour is designed to provide nationally ranked junior golf tournaments to boys and girls in North Carolina. The tour is operated by the Tarheel Golf Foundation, Inc.
