Headquartered in London, Simplyzigzag.com is a premium online estate agency, offering homeowners a direct sales platform for private home sales throughout the UK and a low-cost web-based estate agency offering properties, developments and investment opportunities in the UK and overseas.
Its decision to open in the Middle East follows its successful launch in June 2008 and the interest generated from the region. Simplyzigzag.com is set to become one of the first direct sales platforms to offer property in the region. On its website, Simplyzigzag.com is offering properties in the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Palm Bay Resort in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. It will also focus on offering its clients investment opportunities; similar to it’s recently launched $10million Seed Capital Investment Fund.
Raya Mamarbachi, Director at Simplyzigzag.com, says: “The Middle Eastern residential market has enjoyed a strong growth over the past five years but we feel this is just a start and there will be a continued and sustained growth right through to the next decade. Simplyzigzag.com was founded by Achim Amann and Raya Mamarbachi, both recent MBA graduates from Henley Management College. Achim is in charge of new business development and all client relationship management activities, having previously worked at Le Roc (French golfing property company); whilst Raya is in charge of the online marketing, strategy and the ongoing development of the website, having worked for executivesontheweb.com and goldjobs.com (online recruitment companies) since 2003.
Unlike other real estate websites, which take sales listing from real estate agents, Simplyzigzag.com requires an initial fee registration of $100 (£50) for the basic package. This allows homeowners to upload their own images, property descriptions and map to the site. This is the only package accessible for the Middle East homeowners, but upgrades will soon be made available. Separately, Simplyzigzag.com offers search agency features and other services for developers at a small fee.
Since its launch in June 2008, Simplyzigzag.com has: partnered with High Life Developments and Knight Frank to offer its clients’ exclusive and high-end, London-based properties; offers an extensive selection of developments and properties on the French Riviera including the most expensive villa on the market at €70million and Umbria, Italy through local collaborations and tied up joint-venture deals to co-market various properties in Morocco, Egypt and the UK.
