Tarheel Golf Foundation, Inc. Announces Two New Junior Golf Tours for Central North Carolina

Raleigh, NC, United States, 10/29/2008 - A new golf tour has been launched to help boys and girls that aspire to play college golf gain competitive tournament experience in Nationally Raked events. The Tarheel Jr. Golf Tour is based in North Carolina with first tournament at Duke University.

The Tarheel Golf Foundation has announced two new junior tours for boys and girls in Central North Carolina.
The Tarheel Junior Golf Tour will provide nationally ranked 36-hole events for skilled players that aspire to play in college. Over fifteen events are scheduled for 2009, include tournaments at two new North Carolina golf courses, The Club at 12 Oaks in Holly Springs, designed by Jack Nicklaus and the Arnold Palmer designed Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State University. “The Tarheel Junior Tour has been established to deliver a lower total cost of participation in nationally ranked events for the junior golfers of Central North Carolina. We hope that this tour will reduce some of the financial and family sacrifices that parents, players and other family members must deal with to play competitive junior golf at a high level”, said TGF Director Eric Murray. The tour’s first event is January 24-25, 2009 at Duke University Golf Club in Durham, NC.
The tour is open to boys and girls under 19 years old that have not yet started college. Over 15 events are scheduled during 2009.
The Tarheel Future Stars Tour, is a series of one-day events for boys and girls ages 13 and under. Yardages are set to age appropriate distances that allow young players to experience competition while developing their ability to score well.
This series of events will run from March through November 2009. Competitions will be held are a variety of Central North Carolina Golf Courses.
