Leading Law Firm Deploys nFlow Digital Dictation Technology to Facilitate Mobile Working

NewswireToday - /newswire/ - Witham, Essex, United Kingdom, 10/17/2008 - nFlow chosen for proven track record, Farrell Matthews & Weir realises operational efficiency and cost savings.

nFlow, a leading supplier of digital dictation solutions, today announced that Farrell Matthews & Weir, a leading London-based criminal litigation and family law firm, has successfully implemented its nFlow Mobility Suite to allow fee-earners to dictate on case matters through their mobile devices when working remotely from police stations and courts.

The firm specialises in criminal litigation, property and family law. Currently, over 25 fee-earners are using this solution across two office sites. Farrell Matthews & Weir chose nFlow for its superior offering and proven track record in the industry.

The firm has realised substantial operational efficiency since nFlow’s deployment. Using any Windows Mobile device or a Blackberry, fee-earners are able to dictate legal statements and affidavits from their remote place of work and send for immediate transcription to their secretarial staff based at the firm’s offices. Unlike previously, this system has reduced the need for fee-earners to take copious notes at police stations and courts before dictating to secretarial staff on legal matters for transcription, once back in the office. In addition, the firm has benefited from staff cost savings. The need to hire temporary secretarial staff has dramatically reduced as the firm is able to efficiently manage the workload of its secretarial staff.

Also, because dictations are received by the secretarial staff immediately, backlog of dictation tasks for transcription has been greatly reduced. Previously, secretarial staff would often be given a number of analog tapes for transcription at one time, resulting in a delay before fee-earners were able to see the transcripts. The potential was always there for delays to impact on the outcome of any particular case.

Alan Robertson, Practice Manager at Farrell Matthews & Weir, commented, "Given the extensive work we do in the criminal litigation and family law area, our fee-earners spend a lot of time working remotely from police stations and courts. We were in dire need of a modern dictation solution that would deliver efficiencies to both the firm and its clients. We are very pleased with the nFlow solution. Not only has its implementation been smooth and seamless, the training and support we have received has been fantastic. Nothing is ‘too much to ask’ from nFlow."

Rob Lancashire, Sales and Marketing Director at nFlow, added, "Our Mobility Suite is gaining rapid traction in the legal industry as remote working is not only becoming increasingly common place, but also that it makes business sense for firms to adopt innovative technology that can effectively facilitate such practices. We thrive on service excellence. The entire team at nFlow is driven by customer need. This solution is a case in point."
