Burbank, CA, United States, 10/09/2008 - Women on Top productions, an emergent Production Company, is proud to present its first feature length film, Junction, at the La Femme Film Festival on Oct 17th and the Filmstock International Film Festival on Nov 15th, its European Premiere.

The HD Feature, shot by Aaron Platt (Wild Tigers I Have Known, Pull) was filmed largely in Apache Junction, AZ and follows a young girl’s journey to find the family she never knew she had regardless of the consequences. Starring April Wade (Into the Arms of Strangers), Lira Kellerman (Pushing Twilight), Stephanie McVay (Another Gay Movie) and Cindy Hogan (Rocketman), the film explores the strange world of pilgrims and pyromania while highlighting genuine issues of self and societal acceptance. Visually stunning and brilliantly, subtly acted, Junction also features Rollence Patugan, Edward Gusts, Jason Shepard, Stephen Alan Brown, Shannon Walsh and AJ Tannen (West Bank Story, JAG).
Highlighting music from Ryan Hanifl, Dana Falconberry, Arjuna, One Trick Pony and Dusty Lane, the film was scored delicately and distinctively by Sonia Wisgo (Chasing 3000, Iron Road), giving Junction a modern and almost mystical, Native American sensitivity. Coupled with spectacular images of Arizona’s Superstition Mountain and Goldfield Ghost Town, the story is a gripping journey brought to a crescendo when two sisters collide in a dark desert wasteland, changing both of their lives forever.
Women on Top Productions founder, April Wade, has since produced three additional feature films under the company name. She is currently in the advanced stages of post production on April Showers, which stars Tom Arnold, Illeana Douglas, Daryl Sabara (Spy Kids), Kelly Blatz (Prom Night) and Janel Parrish (Bratz) in a gripping drama based largely on the Columbine High School shooting, through the eyes of a real-life survivor. Wade is also moving quickly on developing on an extraordinary Rock-Film about runaway teens living on the street in Los Angeles, The Playground, and has several other features in active development.

Filmstock International Film Festival will be the European Premiere of Junction and is a week long celebration of independent film, boasting big names and a huge following in England.
Junction be screening Friday, October 17, 2008 at 8:00pm at Fine Arts Theatre (8556 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211) and Saturday, November 15th at 2:00pm at The Hat Factory (Luton, England). Tickets may be purchased at the door for both festivals.
