Toronto, Ontario, Canada, 2008/09/26 - VERCOR, a middle market investment bank with a presence in United States, European and Asian markets, expanded its reach into Canada with the addition of Toronto-based dealmakers, Geoff Marney and Bryan Keeler.
The expansion brings the total number of VERCOR offices to 19 worldwide. The mid-size mergers and acquisitions firm also plans to add offices in Calgary and Montreal.
VERCOR managing principal, Mark Jordan, met Marney and Keeler while working on a buy-side mergers and acquisitions engagement. “Sitting across the table from Geoff and Bryan, I became instantly impressed by their professionalism, passion and proactive demeanor. Marney and Keeler are fixtures in the Canadian financial services industry. After leaving a Bay Street-based investment bank, Marney co-founded Pathpoint Capital Partners Limited, where he focused on buy side M&A transactions for middle market businesses. Before co-founding Pathpoint with Marney, Keeler amassed a considerable amount of experience. Keeler was the CFO of a series of Financial Engineering Companies including Repadre Capital and McCarvill Corporation where he built out royalties as a creative form of financing.
The office, staffed with eight professionals, will actively pursue buy and sell-side deals throughout North America and Europe. In their quest for the Canadian market, Marney and Keeler will maintain a uniquely Canadian style.
