After serving as the chief financial officer at New York City's Prudential Douglas Elliman for the past two and half years, as well as CFO of the Corcoran Group before that, Fite decided the timing was right to launch his own agency in one of the country's hottest real estate markets. As CFO for Corcoran, Fite managed the company's acquisition of two Palm Beach real estate agencies. After spending a great deal of time in the area, Fite developed a strong attachment to the town and it's unique atmosphere, ultimately deciding it was the perfect location to launch an independent, boutique brokerage firm.
"I think the market here is ready for an independent company that deals specifically with the kinds of high-end real estate that make Palm Beach so unique," said Fite. "In addition to our work on the local level, we also plan to attract referrals from my network up north that would rather refer business to Fite & Associates than to a large national competitor. We'll be able to sell our clients' homes here in Palm Beach by marketing in Palm Beach as wells as networking in New York and the entire Eastern Seaboard."
Even though the company just launched, Fite & Associates is already making a big splash in the South Florida real estate market. Fite has pulled in some of the biggest names in Palm Beach real estate, so far recruiting 15 talented agents from competing firms. According to Fite, many more are on the way.
A big factor in Fite's recruiting strategy is the company's focus on local expertise and flexibility. But another major factor is the agency's location. Fite & Associates officially opened its doors at 265 Sunrise Avenue in Palm Beach. But within three weeks, the company will move to a new, high-profile location on 101 N. County Road. The office is located on one of the main intersections in town, with high visibility and easy access to many of the main attractions in Palm Beach.
