Buffalo, NY, United States, 09/12/2008 - On Friday, September 12, Time Warner Cable in Buffalo, New York, launched "Caller ID on TV". The new feature allows customers to view Caller ID information on their television screen when they receive a phone call.

Time Warner Cable, the nation’s second largest cable television operator and provider of telecommunications services, announced today the launch of Caller ID on TV starting Friday, September 12. Caller ID on TV integrates phone and television by allowing customers of both Digital Phone and Digital Cable to view Caller ID information on their television screen. This new display will appear in the top left-hand corner of the screen when the phone rings. It will be automatically added to existing Digital Phone customers at no extra charge. Customers do not need to do anything but activate the Caller ID function on your remote control.

Caller ID on TV is an exciting new feature that we are glad to bring to the Buffalo market free of charge,” said Terence Rafferty, President, Time Warner Cable, Western New York Division.
Caller ID on TV displays the same information that customers find on their telephone, and utilizes Time Warner Cable’s network and digital set-top boxes to show it on the upper-left hand corner of a customers’ television screen. The display remains on-screen for several seconds, giving the customer the opportunity to decide if they want to take the call. The feature can also be manually disabled for customers who do not wish to receive Caller ID messages. Additionally, customers can utilize the service to view the last 10 callers.
