In the meantime, the Synology Disk Station DS108j, an economic version of Synology NAS product line, won the 3rd place, while another sibling, the Synology Disk Station DS207+, took the 7th – making Synology the sole brand that occupied 3 slots on the top 10 chart.
Synology DS107+’s journey of honor from the CHIP Magazine can be traced back to October 2007 when it first debuted in the Magazine’s "CHIP Top 10" chapter. Aside from functionality and performance, the two traditionally used review standards for NAS products performance, noise level and power consumption were taken into consideration in this 1-bay and 2-bay NAS test on the 09/2008 issue of CHIP Magazine. Synology DS107+ was once again awarded with the following compliment from CHIP’s editorial team, "Thanks to the very intuitive and logically structured management UI, the 1-bay Synology (DS107+) is the winner of the test. The equipment leaves no feature to be desired, and the performance is very satisfactory."
