Twelve Star Productions, an entertainment corporation, announces that beloved Japanese composer Rika Muranaka has joined the production team of “What Girls Don't Tell.” Muranaka, set to produce the score for the film, has negotiated a multiple pix deal with the company.
“Rika is an accomplished musician, and an amazing talent,” said Executive Producer J. M. Anglin. “We couldn't be happier that she's chosen to join us.”
Damien Matthias, the Director for “What Girls Don't Tell” also expresses his elation.
“I am looking forward to collaborating with Rika,” says Matthias, “Her music moves seamlessly from scene to scene evoking the emotional response that I want the audience to feel.”
The acclaimed Tokyo native is proficient in multiple genres of music from classical and jazz to pop and hip-hop. A graduate of Northeastern Illinois University, Muranaka began her training in Japan, expanding into Jazz under the tutelage of Alan Swain in Chicago as a young teen. Her musical proficiency has allowed her to record and compose with such notables as Woody Shaw, Stan Kenton, Harry Gregson-Williams, Kevin Eubanks, Gerald Albright, Freddie Hubbard, Hubert Laws, and others.
Though Muranaka was a contract artist for Columbia Records and MTV Japan, she is especially beloved by millions in the international video game community. Muranaka has composed and produced themes for video game titles for Konami, including the 2008 mega hit release Metal Gear Solid 4, which debuted at number one with over 1.5 million in sales the first week.
