To earmark Independence Day, Moolchand Heart Hospital is organizing a mega heart camp starting from 14th August, 2008. During this camp, all patients can avail of free consultation by senior cardiologists, ECG and color Doppler echocardiography.
Addressing the press conference Dr. K K Aggarwal-Dean, Board of Medical Education, Moolchand Medcity and Cardiologist, Moolchand Heart Hospital said, “India has maximum prevalence of heart diseases in the world. It is also the world capital for diabetes. This camp will provide an opportunity for heart patients to avail all cardiac facilities under one roof at highly subsidized rates”. Dr. Aggarwal said that being an Indian is a high risk factor for heart disease.
Releasing the dates of the camp noted Kavi Ashok Chakradhar said that Angiography is ‘gio-graphy’ and not ‘maro-graphy’. He also said that inner happiness can prevent heart diseases. But if the disease is present the only answer is to go to a cardiologist.
Co-addressing the press Dr. Ganesh K Mani, Dr. A K Gaur, Dr. H K Chopra and Dr. Saket Bharadwaj, Dr. Pramod Sharma and Dr. Shanthi Bansal cardiologists at Moolchand Heart Hospital said that today heart attack is curable provided patients reach the hospital within the 'golden hours' (3 hours of the onset of chest pain and preferably within 30 minutes). Chewing a tablet of water soluble aspirin at the onset of chest pain can reduce chances of death by 20%. Removing the clot by primary angioplasty can cure a heart attack.
