PMI’s Certified Medical Coder (CMC)® credential was reviewed by The Billing Compliance Advisory Committee at UT Southwestern on June 24, 2008 and subsequently was recognized as an approved coding credential, reinforcing PMI’s position as a leading credentialing organization for medical office professionals nationwide. According to Doug Arrington, Ph.D., FNP-BC, NEA-BC, CHC and Director of Billing Compliance at UT Southwestern Medical Center, “UT Southwestern Billing Compliance Advisory Committee voted to recognize the organizations that Medicare recognized. We felt that it was essential to be consistent with CMS and to provide direction to the various hospital and clinical departments. We are very pleased to include PMI's coding certification as one of the recognized coding designations at UT Southwestern Medical Center”.
