Currently, patients confined to a hospital bed may go as long as a week without having their hair washed by a nurse or without having the daily opportunity to cleanse their face using fresh, warm water.

Specifications and Intellectual Property
The HeCaP Mobile Sink is an ergonomically correct Modular Unit consisting of an adjustable wash basin with a pivoting range of 360 degrees that has an integrated head rest, a hand-held shower nozzle, two bio-degradable 20 liter plastic bag reservoirs (one to hold fresh water and one to capture waste water) and a digital temperature control heating element. The Unit can be completely disassembled and sanitized.
The HeCaP Mobile Sink was designed by market innovators Michael Strobel and Nic Neumann and was developed in collaboration with the Steinbeis Transfer Center for Electronics. It is manufactured in Germany and Switzerland. The company holds a European patent on the product, EP1631228B1 (2/6/2003). An international/US patent is pending.

The goal is to saturate the hospital; nursing home and home care market with the HeCaP Mobile Sink and generate revenue via the sale of the bags used to contain the clean and waste water. Using the proven razor and blade business model, the HeCaP Mobile Sink will be provided free of charge to service providers of the product, with an annual 700 bag minimum purchase order.
The bags are collapsible, easy to store and bio degradable. To insure that only patented (and environmentally sound) HeCaP Mobile Sink bags are used, they will be coded with a small microchip uniquely recognized by the system.
The HeCaP Mobile Sink business model is front loaded with the bulk of the R&D and manufacturing scheduled in years 1-3.
