Brockton, MA, United States, 07/17/2008 - Old Colony Elderly Services (OCES), a private, non-profit agency that provides seniors, families and caregivers with valuable resources and services, has expanded their Brockton offices.

Housed at 144 Main Street, OCES originally leased and occupied 10,000 sq ft of space. Now, the fast growing agency’s offices occupy more than 21,000 sq ft, or almost 60 percent of the entire building. The rest of the building is leased to other businesses, most of which are also non-profits.
OCES’ expansion is due to an increased demand for services; an enhanced offering of services and a growing staff. Five years ago, there were 90 employees. Today, OCES has a staff of 130.
“We’re experiencing a significant increase in the number of elders and disabled who need our services. This demand, along with the new programs and services we offer to better help seniors ‘age in place’, have resulted in staffing increases and office expansion,” explained Diana L. DiGiorgi, Executive Director of OCES.
Ms. DiGiorgi has been at the helm of OCES for two years now. Since she joined the organization 12 years ago, the agency has successfully implemented a number of enhanced care and “aging in place” programs to better serve seniors, families and caregivers throughout the 23 communities covered by OCES.
The most recent programs added include Caring Homes and Enhanced Adult Family Care, as well as a Supportive Housing program that operates from a 10 story building housing 266 residents at 105 Belair Street. The Family Caregiver Support, Nutrition, Protective Services and Home Care programs have significantly expanded over the years.
OCES operates more than 12 programs, which serve elders, their families and caregivers in the towns of Abington, Avon, Bridgewater, Brockton, Carver, Duxbury, East Bridgewater, Easton, Halifax, Hanover, Hanson, Kingston, Lakeville, Marshfield, Middleboro, Pembroke, Plymouth, Plympton, Rockland, Stoughton, Wareham, West Bridgewater and Whitman.
