EPAM Systems, Inc., the leading software engineering and IT Outsourcing (ITO) provider with delivery centers in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), announced today that Arkadiy Dobkin, EPAM Founder, Chairman and CEO, has been named winner of the Entrepreneur Of The Year®2008 award in New Jersey, Information Technology Consulting category, organized by Ernst & Young, a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services.
According to Ernst & Young, the awards are given to entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. The awards nominees were evaluated by independent regional panels of judges who assessed contenders for each designated category by the following criteria: vision, leadership, achievement, and social responsibility reflected in the revenue growth, innovation, risk-taking, and personal commitment to the business and the community.
An immigrant to the US, in 1993 Arkadiy Dobkin formed EPAM, which became one of the first outsourcing companies to leverage the talented pool of Eastern European engineers. Under his supervision EPAM grew into a strong multicultural team of best-in-class IT professionals referenced by company’s Fortune 500 global clients, industry professionals, and media. By 2006, Consulting Magazine named Arkadiy Dobkin one of the Top 25 Consultants of the Year. In 2007 Dobkin was shortlisted as a top three finalist of the Ernst & Young NJ awards program together with the founders of Cognizant Technology Solutions and Artech Information System. In the victorious 2008, Arkadiy Dobkin was nominated for the awards in the Information Technology Services category by a global technology leader SAP, one of EPAM’s partners and customers with an eleven-year successful partnership record.

Award winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California on November 15, 2008. The awards are the culminating event of the Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
