Myriad Media, a Raleigh film and video production firm, has won a Gold award in the Triangle Ad Club’s 2008 ADDY competition. The firm was awarded for its role in producing a video promoting the Blount Street Commons development in downtown Raleigh.
The program assists sales agents in showing customers the basic layout of the development and conveying its position compared with other downtown developments. The project is unique in that it consists of refurbished, turn of the century homes juxtaposed with new, modern apartments surrounded by lush green spaces. The need for video production presented a particular challenge: how to bring the ever-important historic elements to life alongside homes that had not yet been built.
“Our approach was to play to the strengths of the development and blend old and new together by combining historical photographs, maps and letters with digital animation, architectural renderings and a rich sound effects score,” says Ricardo Roberts, Director of Opportunity Development for Myriad Media.
“This award represents a lot of hard work, creative vision and dedication to client success. Congratulations to our outstanding creative team,” says Myriad Media President Will Feichter.
The ADDY Awards are the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition with over 60,000 entries annually. The ADDY Awards recognize all forms of advertising from media of all types, creative by all sizes, and entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world. The American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry association, conducts the ADDY Awards through its 200 member advertising clubs and 15 districts. It is the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry for the industry.
