A unit has been purchased already in the UK, and it will be installed at FAHEYS CONCRETE (in SW England), which is a ready-mixed producer. THEAM is worldwide leader in its field, with 7,500 units in use across the world.
FAHEYS CONCRETE, which is based in South-Western England, purchased its first THEAM conveyor in 2002. At the time, it was a standard conveyor. The English company is now set to acquire the more advanced double telescopic conveyor version – the TDL16.5.
The competitive advantages of the TDL 16.5 conveyor are manifold. For a start, the 16.5m aluminium conveyor (called TDL 16.5) weights 500kg less than the previous steel version. As a result, concrete producers can put more concrete in the drum. Moreover, the unit’s stability is reinforced, as the 500kg lightening is spread over the beam.
The lightweight double telescopic conveyor belt also has added safety features: a pressure limiter on hydraulic system; a pressure gauge control of cylinders; an optimal safety guard system; a lock/unlock indicator light for outriggers and rotating arm; and, finally, an emergency shut-off on the truck. Besides, the unit is equipped with a double rotation chain system with pressure limiters.
The proportional hydraulics system ensures greater precision and longer life span for parts and machinery, while the new-generation carbide scraper features a compression spring and curved blade. Additionally, the sliding system prevents concrete segregation and makes the conveyor compatible with every kind of concrete plasticity. Finally, this product is perfect for complex construction sites: it can be used to deliver concrete to a high location, through openings.
The product features of the TDL16.5 THEAM CONVEYOR are as follows:
- Conveying distance: 10.7m to 16.7m;
- Aluminium structure;
- Double telescopic conveyor: 3.50m telescopic on the second element; 1.50m telescopic on the third element;
- Rotation of 310°;
- Maximum height of 9.50 m (at an angle of 30°);
- Surface area covered: 350m2;
- Sliding system;
- Scraper with compression spring and curved blade;
- Ceramic driving drum;
- Proportional hydraulics;
- Stabilisers included;
- Remote control included;
- Belt width: 360mm;
- Maximum discharge rate for an engine speed of 1000rpm: 75m3/hour (horizontal position).
The advantages of the THEAM conveyor start with the fact that a quick return on investment (from 6 to 18 months) can be secured. The system is easy to use, which guarantees a fast learning process for staff. Also, there is no concrete loss, as compared to a pump, and the unit is easy to wash with a high-pressure washer. Finally, THEAM supplies a product with enhanced safety (with a high voltage power line detector as an additional option).
THEAM invented its unique solution, which consists of a truck-mounted concrete conveyor belt, and has been manufacturing it for three decades. THEAM has grown thanks to its ability to innovate and, today, the company offers a range of 12 conveyors (for 4-, 6- and 8-wheeler trucks), which can cover all deliveries, up to 16.5 metres. The company offers both standard and telescopic conveyors, in steel or aluminium, with a range of options to choose from (high-pressure washer, demountable system, and power-line detectors).
The company now produces 380 units a year, with 70% sold outside France, in more than 40 countries. The company exports its units either through subsidiaries (in Mexico and in the US, for instance) or through exclusive distributors, such as EUROPA (Sales) LTD, in the UK.
About THEAM SA
Founded in Nantes (in the West of France) in 1977, THEAM SA, invented and has been manufacturing its unique solution, which consists of a truck-mounted concrete conveyor belt. THEAM has built its reputation on its capacity to innovate and to propose quality products.
THEAM has 30 years’ expertise in the conveyor market and is the only company in the world to focus exclusively on conveyors. Over 7,500 THEAM conveyors have been sold in 47 countries.
THEAM sold its first conveyor to a British-based company in 1995. Since then, about 150 conveyors have been sold in the UK, to both international companies and independent ready-mixed concrete producers such as FAHEYS CONCRETE.
THEAM already has a British agent — EUROPA (Sales) LTD — which deal with sales, maintenance and fitting. As a result, clients can order spare parts easily, and benefit from technical information and support, direct from Britain.
